Xmas Tree Gift Box

Hi there….ok, so it has been awhile since I posted…not too long but long enough.  I will be having a lot going on with crafting since the holidays are quickly approaching so keep your eye out on my blog for ideas.

I am so excited for the craft and vendor fair coming on November 19th at Kenneth W. Culbert Elementary School.  I will be there with my CTMH product AND some premade goodies for all.  I will have a “holiday” section at my booth for those who would like to get small, handmade, affordable gifts for the teachers, bus drivers, clients, friends, neighbors, and family in their lives.

In addition, I will be having Flora’s Cheesecakes at my booth….so if you want to taste the BEST New York style cheesecake, come by and say hello.  Ok, so let me give you a sneak peak at one of the gift boxes I will be showing and having a workshop on this month….

“Roxie” Card Box

Roxie 005

So I have spent some time this morning doing some scrapbook layouts using Close To My Heart’s “Roxie” paper pack.  LOVE IT!!!!  Of course I spent some time making other treats as well using my left-over paper.  Here is a card box I made to hold a handful of handmade greeting cards.

Roxie 007

With a little help from my CTMH “Art Philosophy” Cricut cartridge I made the paper flowers attached here.  Added some “Bling” and some cork letters (inked with some Tulip ink).  DONE!!!!

Give Scrapbooking a Chance

I don't think I have to tell you all who follow me how much I enjoy scrapbooking and other paper crafts. I have so many people who tell me that they just cannot do it. The reasons they give me are as follows:

I am way too busy and have no time for that stuff.
I keep all my photos on the computer.
I am so not creative.
I always wanted to but have so much stuff and get overwhelmed at the thought of starting.

Hearing those reasons don't bother me so much because I used to feel the same way before I got started. But, when people start assuming I have no life because I scrapbook, I start to feel sad. BUT NO MORE!!!!! My job is to show people how wonderful this craft really is, how simple it could be, steps that can be taken to begin, and to teach why it is important to get some of those photos off the computer and into a scrapbook where they can be a part of your very own autobiography.

Scrapbooking can also be beneficial in these ways:

It is extremely therapeutic and can provide distraction from everyday stresses.
It can be a way to preserve family heritage (not only photos but recipes, handwritten notes, and other items).
You can be a part of a community by sharing the craft with others who love it too.

To help all of those who would like to dabble in this craft, I will be hosting a scrapbook 101 class. This class is perfect for all of those who have either scrapbooked before and haven't in awhile and need to be re-energized or for those who have always wanted to and never knew where to start. The cost is $10 a person and you will receive everything you need to complete a two (2) page layout. I will help show you how fun and easy it really is. Feel free to bring a friend or two. Those who do get a FREE gift. Light snacks and drinks will be served. Here is the info:

Date: Friday, October 21st
Time: 7:00p.m.
Place: My house

Please let me know by October 14th if you would like to join us! And remember...I am a teacher, mommy of three, wife, business owner...If I can do it so can you. Let me show you how, let's create together!

Halloween Treat Box using CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

Art Philosophy + Cricut = Halloween Fun!

Hello, everyone. Hope you are all getting along with this cool, rainy, Fall weather. I love this time of year and I take some extra time reading all my favorite magazines and catching up with fun stuff to make and do for the holidays. I love Halloween...especially since I have 3 girls who love it too. Plus, I am a teacher and this is a huge craft time in the classroom. On my magazine travels, I found these really cute treat boxes made to look like our Halloween mascots (like mummies, pumpkins, spiders, bats, and monsters).

My friend and upline, Fancy Melissa at fancymelissa.com was great enough to take the ideas and run with them. She figured out a way we can use the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge by CTMH to create these cute treat boxes...so I got right on it. Here is Frankenstein:

So...how did I make this guy. Check out my tutorial on how to create your very own Frankenstein treat box...(and don't forget to visit fancy melissa at fancymelissa.com)

If you don't have your Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, contact me and I will help you out! Happy crafting!
