Epoxy Shape Embellishments

Today, I got a new toy!  I have been waiting for this sweet tool for some time now and it has just been placed on my “must haves” list.

EC Shape tool 003

What does it do?  Well, it is an epoxy shape tool that helps you create your own epoxy shapes using scrapbook paper of your choice.  It is a product of Epiphany Crafts and was recently aired on HSN.  You may have also seen their product in all the scrapbook magazines out there.  You can see more about these great tools (you can make buttons too) at  http://epiphanycrafts.com

This is one of my design ideas for my little Mia’s First Communion Invites…..

Notice the center of the lace ribbon-I created an epoxy bubble using B&T from CTMH’s Sophia paper pack.  The stamp set I used is Beloved from CTMH and the lace ribbon is from their designer pink collection.  Super fun and super easy!

Delight in Everything-Sophia

This month I am getting to play with Close To My Heart’s Sophia paper pack.  I am loving it!  It is wonderful for Spring fun, Easter, Mother’s Day, birthdays….anything!!!!!  Here is my latest creation:

Sophia 026

I started with a plain 4 1/2”x 5 1/4” card base.  Using some left-over paper from one of my scrapbook layouts, I covered the front of my card.  I punched a 1 3/4” circle at the top left corner and added a treat cup filled with some buttons from the CTMH ‘Pink” collection.

Sophia 018

I used some pink designer ribbon at the bottom and topped the bow with a button laced with waxy flax.  I added the “Delight in Everything” sticker which is from the Sophia level 2 my stickease sheets and there you have it!  Easy enough, right?!   This card is going to a fellow crafter that I know LOVES the CTMH buttons.  That is why I filled this treat cup with just that.  Keep in mind you can fill them with anything:  glitter, confetti, candy, or a favorite embellishment. I hope this inspired you just a bit today.  I know this simple project certainly lifted my spirits.  Happy crafting!

Score!!!!!

No, I am not talking about the game on TV.  I am talking about making your artwork look elegant by scoring your cardstock.  I got this super, cool idea during my internet browsing (looking for some different ways to dress up a page or card).  How sweet is this?

Tile cards 004

Here I used a scoring technique to make my cardstock look like tile.  Now take into consideration this is the very first time I used this technique….next time I think I will sponge ink a little darker around the indentations of the scored lines. This may make the “grout” lines more prominent.  The stamping was done using images from the CTMH February stamp of the month.

Creating Notecard/Recipe Box

The My Creations Recipe/Photo Box from Close To My Heart is a must have in my personal inventory.  Makes for fast/simple projects that can be given as great gifts made with love or for personal use.  I decided to make a notecard box to keep on my desk at work.  I am a teacher and this is the perfect catch-all for all those straggling notes that come in as well as pictures from my families and students.  Here I used the Sophia paper pack from Close To My Heart.  I took the 2” scallop punch and made the cute little paper flower on the front.

More With "Sophia"

Here are is a two (2) page layout I completed using "Sophia" from Close To My Heart. Notice the small rosette flower made from pompom ribbon topped with a button......

How To Earn FREE Close To My Heart Product

I know what you must be thinking..."oh, no, she is going to ask me to host a party here at my house that hasn't been cleaned in a month and is way too small. I have to serve people food, find someone to take care of my kids, and explain to my husband why I will be putting him in charge of our chaotic family while I chat it up with the girls and scrapbook (which, by the way, I am NOT creative)!!!" Well you are right and wrong :). Yes, I am going to offer you an opportunity to be a hostess that earns FREE stuff, however, it can be done differently. This can be the perfect opportunity to get a few things to scrapbook with and not spend any money. So if you fall in love with the CTMH product (and you will) woohoo, you got to have a free "test drive" and if you don't like it (doubt it) no money lost. Now you are saying, "ok, ok, Danielle, tell me the idea."

Some of you may already know that I am a business person who likes to befriend her customers, make a connection with each and every one personally, and earn their trust. That for me is mostly why I do what I do. Now I won't lie, of course, the money is good and it is a great incentive, however the quality of what I offer comes as priority. I get paid to bring family and friends together to preserve their memories. They get "time" to sit and do what they love and reconnect. With all that said, my only intention is to help those around me feel comfortable enough to try this amazing craft that will be with them for a life time. I need to spread the word!!!!

What can you do? Host a catalog party. How much do you need to spend? Nothing! All you need to do is pass out some catalogs to those around you that you think may be interested. If you can get $150 total in orders, you just earned $25 in FREE product. You can earn more too....the more orders you get, the better your chances of more FREE stuff. Here is how you do it:

Contact me valentino.danielle@yahoo.com and tell me that you are interested in hosting a catalog party. I'll supply you with a few catalogs along with order forms along with any specials going on for the month. We will set a closing date for your party. When you are done collecting orders, give them back to me and I'll process it all for you. Then the best part....I contact you with the good news of how much FREE stuff you can get. When your product gets here, I pack it up and bring it to you to hand to your customers. That's it!!!!

I just had a friend and loyal customer do this and she earned SO FAR...we are still open.....$60 in FREE product AND 50% off any item in the catalog!!!! Woohoo, Urs, you rock!

So if you are interested in doing something like this to earn FREE stuff....contact me! valentino.danielle@yahoo.com

With March Comes Inspiration

Yes, it has been too long since my last post.  The last month has been crazy.  I am hoping now that Spring is in sight, I can start reorganizing my thoughts.  I have to admit that I get hit hard emotionally in the winter months so Spring cannot come soon enough.  With it being a time to celebrate new life, fresh air, and beautiful family events and holidays, I start getting inspired by everything and anything around me.

I started playing with “Sophia”, a beautiful, bright, and cheerful paper from Close To My Heart.  Here is a page I just finished:

Spring 2011 042

This page had some fun added to it using my CTMH 2” scallop punch.  After punching a few “scallops”, I folded them in half and made a cute little pennant at the top, left corner of the page ( a great tip offered by CTMH).  I added little buttons from our new button assortments “Red”….

Spring 2011 050

Last but not least, I took the pompom ribbon from the new designer pink collection by CTMH and turned it into a small rosette.  Topped with another fun button, makes for an adorable addition to any page.

This month, I will be having a “Sophia” scrapbook workshop where we will create 4 pages and you will have plenty of paper to create more on your own.

2011SS_GWOTG_Sophia_layouts
